Red Arrow Trail Reports
Monday January 11,2021
Another beautiful day in downtown Townsend ( minus the snow ) darn it! Still no major storm in the future so keep pounding the floor with those snow dancing shoes.
It is with a heavy heart to announce that the ANNUAL BONFIRE IN THE WOODS SCHEDULED FOR THIS UPCOMING SATURDAY THE 16TH HAS NOW BEEN CANCELLED. NO TRAILS, NO ACCESS TO THE EVENT.
There won’t be another trail report update until we have something new to report.
Until then stay healthy and keep dancing,
FireCat

GREETINGS FROM TOWNSEND AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!
Mrs. Fire Cat here filling in for Fire Cat
All Oconto County Snowmobile Trails Remain CLOSED at this time. This includes the Nicolet State Trail. There is simply not enough snow yet and what did fall was the light fluffy stuff.
Yes, you may see groomer tracks on Red Arrow Trails and some other clubs trails, but this is just preliminary panning to help build a good base for the upcoming season. Remember there is a pretty expensive fine to ride on closed trails.
Oconto County Parks and Recreation Office will decide when trails will open and they will in turn issue a Press Release saying as such. So as Fire Cat has said before, it is not in the clubs hands to make the decision to open the trails.
In the mean time get those trail passes ordered and on your machines, gas them up and wait for snow. A snow dance would be appropriate!!!

Greetings from Beautiful Townsend Wi. USA! This is my first report for the 2020-2021 Snowmobiling season. I wish I had something positive to say as far as snowmobile trail conditions. We presently have about 1 1/2″ of snow on the ground, with possibly another inch coming tomorrow and another on Wednesday. Let’s be positive, an inch here and another inch there add up to grooming snow, RIGHT??? Moisture content of the snow will help determine when there is enough to start panning the trails to form a good solid base for the season ahead.
WE AT RED ARROW DO NOT DETERMINE WHEN THE TRAILS OPEN. THAT IS CONTROLLED BY OCONTO COUNTY!! So don’t blame us if you think they should be open.
My daily reports will not happen until the trails are about to open, but I will pop up with an occasional update now and then, I hope sooner than later!
Have a very Merry Christmas from myself and the entire Red Arrow Family,
Ride Safe and Ride Sober in your car until your sled,
FireCat
