Winter ’18 Snowmobile Safety Course-Oct 27 & 28th

Red Arrow Snowmobile/ATV Club is sponsoring a Wisconsin DNR certified Snowmobile Safety Course.  The course will be held at the Townsend Town Hall Municipal Building at 17937 Front Street, (corner of Elm Street and Hwy 32 in Townsend).

Class meets Saturday and Sunday,  October 27th and 28th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  Attendance is required both days.

There is no actual snowmobile operation for the class, classroom only.

Everyone is welcome to attend the course with a recommended minimum age of 11-1/2.   Those born after January 1, 1985 and at least 12 years old must have Snowmobile Safety Certification to operate on public areas.  Those students who have not reached the age of 12 may not use their certificate to operate alone until they turn 12 years of age.  If a child is under the age of 16, the certification must be obtained in a classroom setting, there is no online class availability.  Parents and adults are encouraged to enroll and participate.  Fees for the course are $10.00 per student.  Fee is waived if you, parents or grandparents are members of the Red Arrow Snowmobile/ATV Club.

Register online and also obtain a DNR customer number at https://gowild.wi.gov/  or a customer number can also be obtained at DNR service outlets or 1-888-936-7463.   You must have a DNR customer number prior to taking the class. Class size is limited to 20 participants and this class will very likely reach capacity, so sign up early.

Students with special needs will need to contact the instructor in advance to request special accommodations.  For information or assistance, please contact Larry Westphal at 920-912-3689 or Lw56trailz@gmail.com.  Text or email is preferred, as Northwood’s voicemail success is not guaranteed.
